The package contains everything you'll need to use the radio. Separate home and car cradles let you play the radio through your home and car stereos. Portable accessories, including earphones, a belt clip, and a rechargeable battery, let you carry it around with you. A wireless remote gives you convenient control wherever you are.

The Tao features a built-in antenna for portable mode. All you have to do is charge up the battery (by plugging the radio in at home or in the car), connect the headphones, and slip the radio in the belt clip. When you use the Tao outdoors, you'll get the best reception when you're clear of large obstructions.

Home and car accessories
Inside, connect the Tao to your stereo using the home accessories, which include an antenna, a desktop stand, a power adapter, and an audio patch cable. The antenna can be mounted indoors or out, and will maintain steady contact with XM's satellites for optimum reception.

Car accessories let you listen on the road, too. The antenna secures to your car's roof with its magnetic base. The cradle comes with three mounting brackets, so you can place it in the best possible place on your dash or console. The car power adapter plugs right into your power outlet or cigarette lighter.

The Tao's built-in wireless FM transmitter plays the sound over your in-dash stereo. If your car stereo has an auxiliary input, you can connect the Tao's cradle directly to it with an optional audio cable to get even better sound.

Programming features
Whenever you hear anything you love — a favorite song, a hilarious comedy routine, an informative news program — just press the "2go" button, and the Tao will capture it. It'll store up to five hours' worth of your favorite programming, which you can go back and listen to anytime you like. It's a great feature when you're in an area where XM service is limited or interrupted, such as on the subway, in the gym, or in an office. When it's sitting in the home stand, you can even set the radio's timer to save a program at a specific time.

TuneSelect™ alerts you when any of up to 20 songs you've saved is playing anywhere on XM. You can also save the song name and artist info for up to 20 other songs so that you won't forget them the next time you're out shopping for music.

The large display shows you all channel, song, and artist info, and offers InfoExtras, which include sports scores and scrolling, updated stock prices, all of which are customizable.

A subscription to XM Satellite Radio is also required.
